Antelope

We have the finest antelope hunting that can be found anywhere. Our hunters have been taking 13 - 15 1/2 inch antelope each year. The Antelope is fast, smart, and well worth the investment in a license.
NO TROPHY FEES

Hunts are conducted on rolling prairie, with lots of walking. We use 4 x 4 vehicles. Hunting is daylight to dark, and strictly fair chase. Scenery is spectacular, and temperature can range from below freezing, to the 80's. Weather patterns this time of year are unpredictable. Season dates are October 1st thru November 20th.

Weather

The weather can and will have a profound effect on your hunting sometimes in a positive manner sometimes in a negative manner. During the fall weather in Wyoming can change from 90 degrees during the day to freezing at night. Roads may be muddy and to wet to travel in the morning and dry in the same afternoon. We will hunt in bad weather, but safety and ranch road rules will be the deciding factors about leaving camp. November in Wyoming can get very cold. Mule Deer hunting involves sitting in the dark for about an hour so be sure to bring clothing that will keep you warm. Prior to your hunt go to the internet site www.weather.com and search Newcastle WY. Checking out the long range forecast will help you prepare for your hunt. No extra days will be awarded or refunds given to lost hunting opportunity or season closures. Any additional cost for motels, meals, etc. under these circumstances is not the responsibility of Dampier Hunting Lodge.

Transportation

Plan on arriving midday the day before your hunt start date. For air transportation fly into Rapid City, South Dakota is the closest airport to our location. We are located just 25 miles from Deadwood, South Dakota and only an hour from Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments. Devil’s Tower is only 70 miles from our lodge. Round trip transportation is available from the airport at $200.00 per person or $400 for groups of 4 or more.
